Technique Junkies March Release Bu

Happy March Release Day!

I am designing with the talented ladies of Technique Junkies this month and we have new stamps in the store. Click here to check them out https://techniquejunkies.com

I have two cards to share today using some of the new stamps. For my first card I used Old Fashioned Roses

This background stamp is just beautiful! I stamped the image onto watercolor paper with Stazon black ink and then colored with my Zig markers. I heat embossed the sentiment, from the set Sentimental Sayings, onto a piece of vellum and then wrapped around my card panel. I layered this panel onto a black cardstock mat and then added to a blue card base,

For my next card I used Bad Decisions

I stamped the image, masking off the sentiment, with Stazon black ink and stamped onto a piece of watercolor cardstock. I then colored with my Zig markers and then trimmed the panel. Next I cut a card base out of kraft cardstock and then added a panel of DCWV gauze cardstock in purple. Next I added a panel that I created with yupo paper and alcohol inks. I then added my panel with the image. Now I masked the lady part of the image and inked the sentiments and stamped on a piece of Kraft cardstock and then fussy cut into strips and added to my card using dimensonals.

All of the March 2020 New Release stamps are 15% off through March 8th! We can all use a little bargain, right? No codes needed, just add them to your shopping cart and the discount will be applied at checkout.

Festive Flowers

Hello and welcome! I would like to share my creation for today. I purchased the Gina K/Simon Says Stamp Festive Flowers release for 2019 Stamptember. The poinsettia stamp is just beautiful. Here is the card I created

I cut a panel from my Bristol Smooth pad and then stamped the poinsettia image using Memento London Fog ink. I then grabbed my Zig markers and colored using various red and greens. When finished I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Claire Nocturne. I layered this piece on a panel of black and then attached some Stampin Up seam binding in the right corner. My card base is Stampin Up Poppy Parade and the next layer is a piece from a Lawn Fawn paper pack followed with the image layer backed on black mat. To finish I dabbed some Stickles in the center of the poinsettia.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my creation today!

Until next time

Autumn Greetings

Hello and welcome! I wanted to share a card I made today using the new Brutus Monroe stamp set that was released for 2019 Simon Says Stamp Stamptember. If you haven’t seen it check it out here. Fall is by far my favorite season.

Here is the shaker card I created

I used SU Tempting Turquiose for my card base and then added layers of paper from Hobby Lobby. On the top layer I added a piece of cheesecloth that I coffee dyed with a bell I rusted up in the center of the bow. To make the globe a shaker I stamped it and then cut all but about 1/4 inch out of the center and then attached it to acetate. The fall scene was stamped on Bristol Smooth paper and colored with my Zig markers.

Hope you enjoyed my card and thank you for stopping by!

Until next time

Happy crafting!

Peony Birthday Wishes

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am back with another creation using a copic marker coloring tutorial from Crafts For Paws.

Here is what I created

If you haven’t gotten a chance to take a class from Elena Cazeras you are definitely missing a treat! She is a wonderful instructor and teaches you how to blend and shade beautifully. For this class the image used is called Big Flouncy Peony by Power Poppy. If you are in need of copic markers you can also find them in the Crafts For Paws site. The wonderful part about shopping with this organization is that they are a non profit org and 100% of all proceeds go towards the care of rescue animals.

Thank you for stopping by

Until next time

Overly Happy Tulips

Good evening and welcome to my blog. It’s been a long time since I posted and I’m happy to be back. Tonight’s post is to introduce you to a non profit organization called Crafts For Paws. It was founded by my friend Elena Cazares, in the Dallas Fort Worth TX area. The organization sells craft supplies and products and all proceeds go towards rescue animals. How awesome is that??? For me it’s my two favorite things in the world, crafting and pups!

Elena is an amazing colorist and because of her love of animals and coloring she has started to offer monthly copic coloring classes which you can purchase with just a $5 donation and all proceeds also go towards animal rescues.

My card for tonight is from this months class called Overly Happy Tulips.

I colored the image using all the markers from the class and then cut a rectangle border out of the Tim Holtz wood grain cardstock, which I stained with Walnut Stain distress ink, and then attached to my colored image piece. I then added the whole piece to a kraft card base. I finished by die cutting my sentiment (Queen & Co) in black cardstock and attached to my card.

If you are interested in checking out the monthly class you can find it here. You can also join the Facebook groups here and here. If you would like to purchase copic markers click here

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my card. If you do purchase the class I would love to see your creations!

Until next time

Happy Crafting!

Take Time To Make Your Soul Happy

Good morning! We have a new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper this week using a beautiful color palette.

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #152

I just love the look of these colors together! I have been wanting to do a galaxy page in my art journal after being inspired by a video from Tiffany Solorio. You can see it here https://youtu.be/GL186sHRe94

This is my finished pages

I used the same steps as Tiffany did except I used a 2 page layout. I started in the center with my paper blocks and worked them out to each side. I used the following products Finnabair clear and heavy white gesso, Star stencil and texture paste, Lindy Stamp gang sprays in Tainted love teal, Sweet violet purple and Lucky shamrock green and Tattered Angels Raven, Prima Sparks paint in Unicorn’s Hair and Fairy Wings, Santoro Gorjuss Girl The White Rabbit, Copic markers and a Moon face digital image.

I had so much fun creating these pages!

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Until next time

Happy Crafting 🙂

Have Some Spooky Fun!

Good morning! It’s Tuesday and that means we have a new challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper. This week our challenge is about Fancy Folds. Here is the inspiration

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #150 Fancy Folds

And here is my card

Have Some Spooky Fun

I used the Double Z Fold technique for my card. I used a reference sheet from Beth Adams for all the dimensions for cutting and scoring. Here is her reference sheet

Double Z Fold Card Dimensions by Beth Adams

My card base is Basic Black and the first layers are Tangerine Tango. The top layers are Whisper White that I sponged the backgrounds on using Stampin Up inks in Tangerine Tango, Yo Yo Yellow, Marina Mist, Midnight Muse and Concord Crush. For the right side panel I masked the moon shape before sponging the background. I used the following stamp and dies to create the scenes – Stampin Up Spooky Fun, Home Sweet Home, Star of Light and the Duet Banner Punch.

The possibilities are endless with this fold card. So many cute and amazing scenes you can create.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Until next time

Graduation Congrats

Good morning! Today we have a new challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper. This challenge is all about Dads and Grads and here is the inspiration

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #149 Dads and Grads

With another year of school wrapping up I chose to make a graduation card.

Graduation Congrats

I love punch art and have always wanted to create these adorable owl graduation cards I have seen so this was the perfect time to give it a go! I used the following colors of cardstock – Close to Cocoa, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Whisper White and Crumb Cake. I used the following punches – 3 inch scalloped circle for the body and wings, Top Note Die for the head, 1 1/4, 1 and 3/4 inch for the eyes, 1 1/4 inch square for the hat, 1 inch square for the beak and the large oval for chest. For the diploma I used a 1 inch piece of Whisper white rolled up and tied a piece of ribbon around it.

If you haven’t ever played around with punch art you should definitely try it out. It’s so much fun and the possibilities are endless. I love to explore Pinterest for punch art ideas!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Until next time

Celebrate

Good morning! Today I wanted to share my card for our new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper . We have a Food & Drink theme for this challenge. Here is the inspiration

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge 146 Food & Drink

The timing for this theme couldn’t have been better as I had just received my new TIm Holtz blueprint stamps!

Here is what I created

Celebrate

I started with a kraft card base that I distressed the edges with walnut stain ink. The next layer is a piece of SU Cucumber Crush, also distressed with walnut stain. The top layer is a piece of kraft that I die cut using the Tim Holtz Cabinet Card die and then embossed using the Tim Holtz wood grain folder and then distressed with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain inks. Now for the fun part! I stamped the beer bottle and beer mug stamps on Bristol Smooth Vellum cardstock with Stazon black ink. I then watercolored using distress inks in Lucky Clover and Scattered Straw. Once they were dry I accented them with glossy accents and added white snow paste to the foam area on the mug. After they had set up I fussy cut them and added to my card using dimensionals. To finish I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock with Versamark and then hear embossed with white and added above the drinks using dimensionals.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Until next time

Happy Crafting 🙂
