Snowy Hills

Good morning! It’s Tuesday so that means we have another challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper. This week our challenge is a designers choice. You get to choose your favorite products and materials. Don’t you just love the freedom of that!

SIP Challenge 16

I choose to create a snowy hill bank scene using my favorite technique sponging.  This is what I created

Snowy hills

I started with a Not Quite Navy card base and then a layer of Whisper White.  My next layer I started with another piece of Whisper White and using hand cut templates I sponged the hills using Marina Mist and Not Quite Navy.  I then used a white gel pen to outline the tops of the hills to give a look of snow.  Next I stamped the trees with Mossy Meadow using the templates so that the bottom of the trees look hidden behind the hills.  Next I stamped the house from the set Holiday Home and colored with my Tim Holtz markers.  I cut the deer using my die from the Gina Marie line and placed him on one of the bottom hills.  Next I die cut 5 pieces of the word Peace from the Christmas Greetings thinlets and glued all the layers together and attached to the top hill. I then attached this finished layer to my card.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have enjoyed my creation and you have been inspired to play along with us this week at Stamp Ink Paper

Until next time

Santas Polar Express

Good morning! I would like to share with you a card I made last night. I found a card on Pinterest that I fell in love with and this is my cased version of it

I used whisper white as my card base. The next layer is Not Quite Navy that I used the Martha Stewart star punch around the page to cut out the stars. Next I heat embossed the sentiment from the set Cup of Cheer in white on the bottom right and then added a piece of white stitched ribbon under the star cutouts. Next I die cut a stitched oval from MFT and cut off about 1/3 off the bottom. I sponged this piece starting at the bottom with Marina Mist and moving up with Pacific Point and finishing the top with Midnight Muse. I heat embossed the trees from the set Happy Scenes in white and then layered this piece on the right side right above the stitched ribbon. Finally I heat embossed the train from the set Traveler in black and then fussy cut and popped it with a pop dot.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have enjoyed my creation.

Until next time

SIP Color Challenge #15

Good morning! I hope in your part of the world the weather is as nice as it is here in Virginia.  Its Tuesday which means we have another challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper.  This week is a color inspiration challenge

SIP Challenge #15

I have seen a lot of cards lately using the Stampin Up Swallowtail stamp set.  So with the colors we are using for the challenge this week I knew this was the set I wanted to use.  Here is what I madeStampin Up Swallowtail

I started with a Whisper White card base and heat embossed the swallowtail in black.  Next I colored the butterfly with Pool Party and Daffodil Delight Stampin write markers.  Next I fussy cut around the butterfly so that only the part of the card front attached was of the actual image.  For the inside I put a layer of Pool Party cardstock and then a layer of Daffodil Delight cardstock with a strand of Pool Party ribbon on top of the inside base.  To finish I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin Up set Hello Life in Memento black ink.  Below you can see what the card looks like when you open the Swallowtail butterfly to reveal the inside.

Stampin Up Swallowtail and Hello Life

I hope that you will come check out the challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper and see all the other creations from the design team.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have enjoyed my creation and have been inspired to come play with us this week!

Until next time

Truly Grateful Fall Card

Good morning! Although it is not officially fall the weather this past week has been perfect fall weather. Today I wanted to share my creation for this weeks Paper Players challenge. Here is the inspiration

The Paper Players pp263

And here is my creation

Truly Grateful Fall card

I used all Stampin Up products for my card. The card base is Pacific Point and then a layer of burlap. The next layer I stamped the trees from Lovely As A Tree and then used Saran Wrap and inks and created the sun and sky and then wrapped a piece of pacific point ribbon below the tree line. I created the leaves using the Joseph’s Coat Technique and arranged them on the lower left and finished with a wooden acorn embellishment.

I hope you have enjoyed my creation and have been inspired to play along with this challenge over at thepaperplayers.blogspot.com

Stamp Ink Paper Sketch Challenge #14

Good Morning! Its Tuesday which means we have another challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper.  This week our inspiration is a sketch challenge

SIP Sketch Challenge #14

I had been wanting to play with a new stamp set I had recently purchased so this was a perfect opportunity.  This is the card I made

Some Odd Girl

I started with Stampin Up Strawberry Slush cardstock for my base.  Next I layered a piece of patterened paper.  The next layer is a piece of SU Whisper White that I stamped the needle from a set called In Stitches Tia by Some Odd Girl, and then inked the edges.  Next i cut another small piece of Strawberry Slush and heat embossed the sentiment in white and layered on my card.  I stamped the girl and colored her with my copics and then fussy cut and layered her so it looked like she was sitting on the edge of the pink layer.  The last thing I did was stamp the thread spool on kraft paper and then fussy cut and wrapped pink/white twine around it and attached a brad to the front and popped it on the card.  I absolutely love this set! I can see many more cute cards with this in the future.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you play along with us for this sketch challenge this week at Stamp Ink Paper

Until next time, Happy Crafting 🙂
