The Sky Is The Limit

Hello and welcome to my blog! Before heading out to stock up for the upcoming storm this weekend I wanted to share my card I made for this weeks Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch challenge

And this is what I created with the sketch

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next I die cut a stitched circle and used a cloud die as a stencil and sponged blue randomly on the circle and then adhered to the card base. I then took a piece of Baked Brown Sugar and cut a piece according to the sketch and stamped the World Map background stamp on it and distressed the edges and then added it to the card base. Next I stamped and fussy cut the plane from the new SAB set Sky Is The Limit and popped it on centered between the map and clouds. To finish I stamped the sentiment from the same SAB set and added some homemade enamel dots.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my card.

SIP #31 Birthday Card Challenge

Good morning! I wanted to share my card for this weeks card challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper. This week our inspiration for the challenge is Birthdays!

SIP #31 Birthday Card Challenge

I decided to make a masculine birthday card

Birthday Wishes

I started with a Baked Brown Sugar card base and then a layer of Basic Black. Next I took a piece of watercolor cardstock and stamped the  image, Tree Poem by Stampendous, in Stazon black. Next I used a splatter technique to create the background. I learned this from my friend Eva. Here is a link to her video showing how to do this http://youtu.be/fSpxWPik0Rw

To finish my card I stamped the birthday wishes sentiment from the set Build A Birthday on watercolor paper and added some watercolor and then matted on black and popped it on my card and then added 3 of my homemade enamel dots below the sentiment.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. If you feel inspired come play along with us this week!

Until next time

SIP #30 Color Challenge

Good morning! It’s Tuesday and that means we have another challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper

This week we have a color challenge for you

SIP #30 Color Challenge

This is what I created using these colors

You Suit Me To A Tea

I started with a Crumb Cake card base.  The next layer is a piece of corrugate paper from DCWV and on top of that is a doily that I stamped the SU French Script background stamp on and then tied a piece of Rose Red ribbon around and then attached those layers to the card base.  Next I die cut the tea cups with the Tim Holtz Tea Time die.  The top cup was cut with Whisper White and then I took the Rose Red ink pad and swiped it across the cup and then sponged Vintage Photo across it to fill in the white spaces that were left.  The middle cup is cut from Crumb Cake and stamped with the French Script stamp.  The bottom cup was cut with Whisper White and then embossed with gold embossing powder.  To finish I hung the little tag with a flower from the top cup and added the sentiment from SU Tea Shoppe to the bottom cup.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my card today and are inspired to come play along with us this week!

Until next time

You Are Awesome

Hello! I’m camped out in my craft room today because it’s too cold to do anything outside! Lol I got spoiled with that incredibly warm December we had here in Virginia.

I wanted to share one of the cards I made today

I started with a Whisper White card base and then I have a piece of Gumball Green and a piece of the Tea for Two dsp with a piece of Pear Pizzazz ribbon wrapped around those two layers and then adhered to the card base. The next four layers are cut using a die set from Gina Steimel called a Leafy Frame. You can find the dies here in her album on the Facebook group https://m.facebook.com/groups/1090253147653827?tsid=0.8369815435726196&source=typeahead

I cut all four layers from the die set in Whisper White. I colored the leafy border from the two layers with a green marker and once the ink was dry I covered the leaves in Crystal Effects and set aside to dry. The two layers that are layered inside of the leafy frames I distressed with green ink and on the smallest top layer I stamped my sentiment from Painted Petals with Stazon black. Once everything was dry I layered all the pieces together using pop dots and then placed on top of the dsp layer using pop dots as well. To finish I used the flower and vine dies from the set and cut pieces from a scrap piece of the dsp and placed those on the frame.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my card. If you would like to join the Facebook group and share your creations we would love to have you there!

Until next time

SIP #29 Sketch Challenge

Good morning! Can you believe it’s the start of a new year already?? To start the new year we have a sketch challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper. Here’s the sketch inspiration

SIP #29 Sketch Challenge

And here is what I came up with

I started with a Whisper White card base. I then cut the three flags from the SU dsp called Tea for Two and distressed the edges with Tim Holtz vintage photo ink and then placed them on my card base. Next I cut the the lacy oval in Coastal Cabana and popped it on the top over the flags and then cut another piece from the same dsp with a MFT stitched oval die and distressed it with Vintage Photo ink and placed it inside the lacy oval cut. Next I die cut the flourish in Whisper White and placed it in the center of the ovals. The sentiment is from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes and I stamped it on white and distressed with Vintage Photo ink and placed it on the inside to the right of the ovals. To finish I used the SU Beautiful Wings embosslit and cut the butterflies from the same dsp and placed the large butterfly on top of the flourish and the three smaller butterflies trailing up from the bottom of the card base up to the ovals. I used some perfect pearls to embellish the large butterfly.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my card for the sketch challenge.

I hope you can play along with us this week!

Until next time

CYCI #101 Color Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I wanted to share a card I made for the Can You Case It Color Challenge this week. This was the inspiration they gave for this color challenge

This is what I came up with

I started my card with a Concord Crush base. Next I took a piece of Whisper White and die cut it with the Spellbinders Cascading Dots die and then used the following inks to distress it – Marina Mist, Pacific Point, Midnight Muse, Wisteria Wonder and Vintage Violet.  After giving the inks a few minutes to dry I adhered this price to another slightly large piece of Whisper White and then filled in all the dots with glossy accents. While that was drying I stamped the image and sentiment from the SU set And Everything Nice and colored with my copics. I backed the image with a piece of Concord Crush and distressed the sentiment with Wisteria Wonder. After the first piece was finished drying I placed it on the card base and then added the image and sentiment.

Here is the link to the CYCI challenge if you would like to play along with them http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=2724

Until next time
