SIP Sketch Challenge #58

Good morning! I hope you all are surviving this blistering heat we have been having. We have a fun new challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper this week.  Here is your inspiration

SIP Sketch Challenge #58

To help me survive the heat I decided on a Christmas card hehe

Snow Place

I started with a Baha Breeze card base.  The next layer is a piece of Whisper White embossed with the SU Woodland Texture EF with a piece of Lost Lagoon striped cotton ribbon tied around the middle section.  Next I took a Manila tag and tea dyed it, after it was dry I took a white circle and adhered it to the bottom and then trimmed the sides and bottom to match the tag.  I then punched out a oval out of white glitter paper and added on the white space.  Now using the SU set Snow Place I stamped the penguin with momento black ink and the scarf with Real Red ink and then die cut them both using the matching framelits.  I colored in the Penguins nose and feet and then attached the scarf and then added him to my tag.  I added a strip of sequins to the tag hole and then added the tag to my card using dimensionals. I just recently received my new Nuvo crystal drops and using the white one to create snow drops on the trees and tag. I absolutely love my Nuvo’s!! To finish I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with momento black ink onto white cardstock and then cut the words out individually and adhered then to a strip of Baja Breeze and added that to the bottom of my card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Until next time

Stay Cool and Happy Crafting 🙂

SIP Challenge #58 – Black and White

Good morning!  It’s me again! 2 posts in one day is a record for me! hehe

I wanted to share my card for our challenge this week over at Stamp Ink Paper .  Here is the inspiration for the challenge

SIP Challenge #57 - Black and White

To me a black and white card is so elegant and striking. I knew instantly what I wanted to use to make my card. Here is what I created

Forever & Always

I started with a Basic Black card base.  Next I took a piece of Whisper White about half the size of the card base and stamped the image with the SU stamp Parlor Prints in Stazon black ink and added it to the bottom part of the card base.  I added a piece of grosgrain white ribbon at the top of the stamped image.  Next I stamped the sentiment from Loving Thoughts in versamark and then heat embossed in white.  To finish I tied a bow using the same white ribbon and added it on the strip of ribbon.  Here is a look at the inside

Parlor Print

This card is super easy and fast to make and I love the elegant look you get.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Until next time

Happy crafting 🙂

Retro Rubber Challenge #43

Good morning! I wanted to share my card for our challenge over at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  The inspiration for this challenge is Summer

Retro Rubber Challenge #43 - Anything Goes Summer Theme

And here is what I created

Hula Anya

I started with a Tangelo Twist card base.  For the next layer I used a piece of Whisper White and I sponged the blue sky in using Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass distress ink.  I die cut the sun and clouds with the Lawn Fawn Spring Showers set and distressed with inks and then added to my card. Next I took a piece of whisper white and and free hand cut it into the shape of hills and sponged with SU Certainly Celery and Old Olive and then added this piece to my card front.  To finish I stamped Hula Anya from The Greeting Farm (2009) on white Cardstock and colored in using my copics and then fussy cut her and added her to my card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Until next time

SIP Challenge #56 – Christmas In July

Good morning!  This week we are celebrating Christmas In July over at Stamp Ink Paper.

SIP Challenge #56 - Christmas In July

Here is the card I created

Holiday Lineup

I started with a Whisper White card base and then a layer of Basic Black.  The next layer is Coastal Cabana embossed with a Darice snowflake embossing folder.  For my stamped image I used the Stampin Up set called Holiday Lineup.  I stamped the image with Memento Black on a piece of Whisper White and then colored in with markers and used Stickles to accent.  I layered this piece on top of layers of Coastal Cabana and Basic Black and then added these to my card.  To finish I stamped the sentiment on white and then punched it out with a oval punch and then layered this on a scalloped oval black piece and added this above the image on my card and then added 3 of my homemade enamel dots on the lower right side.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you can join us this week in celebrating Christmas In July!

Until next time

Happy Crafting 🙂

SIP Sketch Challenge #55

Good morning!  First I would like to say I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday weekend. It’s Tuesday and I’m here to share my card for our challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper.  We have a fun sketch challenge for you this week

Stamp Ink Paper Sketch Challenge #55

As soon as I seen this sketch I immediately seen an upside down Polaroid frame so I knew what I wanted to do! Here is the card I created

Life Is Like A Camera

I started with a Basic Black card base and then added a layer I embossed with a Darice camera folder that I sponged with Basic Grey ink.  Next I added a strip of Idea-ology film strip to the right side of the embossed layer.  For the Polaroid piece I used my Lawn Fawn Say Cheese stamp and die set.  I stamped and cut the Polaroid frame and then inked with Basic Grey ink and then layered a piece of Basic Black in the back of the opening.  I embossed the camera image from the Inkadinkado set Cameras and finished by stamping the sentiment from a Mama Elephant stamp set.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed my card and are inspired to play along with us!

Until next time

Happy Crafting 🙂

Retro Rubber Challenge #42

Good morning! I wanted to share some exciting news with you. Today is my first challenge with the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog as a design team member. I am super excited to be with this team of extremely talented ladies. This challenge is to use brads or eyelets

Retro Rubber Challenge #42

I decided to go with the brads and this is what I created

The Open Sea

I started with a Pacific Point card base and then a layer of Whisper White that I stamped the SU Hardwood background stamp on. The next layer is another piece of Pacific Point and then a layer of Whisper White that I sponged the edges with Pacific Point ink. On this layer I put 6 pieces that were cut to look like planks of wood by stamping the Hardwood stamp on a separate piece of paper and then cutting individually. I attached these pieces using brads.  Next I stamped the ship from the SU set The Open Sea (2011) in Pacific Point on a white circle piece. I then stamped the hardwood stamp in vintage photo on a scrap piece of white and using two circle dies cut out a ring.  I did this again with pacific point and then cut partial pieces to attach to the hardwood ring and wrapped jute on the four points where the blue pieces ended.  To finish I stamped the sentiment from the SU set Greatest Greetings and cut the words out individually and backed them on Pacific Point and attached to my card front.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my card.  Please stop by The Retro Rubber Challenge Blog and check out all the awesome cards created by the whole design team and if your inspired you can play along with us!

Until next time

Happy Crafting 🙂
