Peony Birthday Wishes

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am back with another creation using a copic marker coloring tutorial from Crafts For Paws.

Here is what I created

If you haven’t gotten a chance to take a class from Elena Cazeras you are definitely missing a treat! She is a wonderful instructor and teaches you how to blend and shade beautifully. For this class the image used is called Big Flouncy Peony by Power Poppy. If you are in need of copic markers you can also find them in the Crafts For Paws site. The wonderful part about shopping with this organization is that they are a non profit org and 100% of all proceeds go towards the care of rescue animals.

Thank you for stopping by

Until next time

Happy crafting!

Overly Happy Tulips

Good evening and welcome to my blog. It’s been a long time since I posted and I’m happy to be back. Tonight’s post is to introduce you to a non profit organization called Crafts For Paws. It was founded by my friend Elena Cazares, in the Dallas Fort Worth TX area. The organization sells craft supplies and products and all proceeds go towards rescue animals. How awesome is that??? For me it’s my two favorite things in the world, crafting and pups!

Elena is an amazing colorist and because of her love of animals and coloring she has started to offer monthly copic coloring classes which you can purchase with just a $5 donation and all proceeds also go towards animal rescues.

My card for tonight is from this months class called Overly Happy Tulips.

I colored the image using all the markers from the class and then cut a rectangle border out of the Tim Holtz wood grain cardstock, which I stained with Walnut Stain distress ink, and then attached to my colored image piece. I then added the whole piece to a kraft card base. I finished by die cutting my sentiment (Queen & Co) in black cardstock and attached to my card.

If you are interested in checking out the monthly class you can find it here. You can also join the Facebook groups here and here. If you would like to purchase copic markers click here

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my card. If you do purchase the class I would love to see your creations!

Until next time

Good morning! First I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year! Do you have any crafty new year goals? My goals for this year is to make and send at least 10 birthday cards a month. I also want to make at least 5 Christmas cards a month so I will be finished and ready to mail them all by the beginning of December. So to start this year off I have made a masculine birthday card for our new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper. Our first challenge for 2018 is all about embossing. Here is the inspiration

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #131 Emboss It!I love all the different ways you can use embossing but for my card today I chose an embossing folder. Here is what I created

I started with a kraft card base and added a layer of Basic black. For the next layer I used a piece of kraft and embossed using the Tim Holtz Travel Signs folder and then distressed the embossed portions with Vintage Photo ink and added this layer on top of the black. Next I embossed a piece of silver foil paper with the folder and die cut the center with a circle framelit and adhered this on top of the kraft embossed layer lining up the words. I used black soot ink and distressed the foil layer. To finish my card I stamped the train image by Blue Knight Rubber Stamps, and colored in using my copics and then fussy cut and added to my card front using dimensionals.

You can find the train stamp here

Thankful For You

Good morning! First I would like to send my thoughts and prayers out to everyone who have been affected by hurricane Irma. I hope that you and your families are safe and out of harms way.

Today I am sharing my card for our new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper.  Now that we are officially into the Fall season we have a CAS Fall challenge for you this week

And here is what I created

For my card I am showcasing products from Brutus Monroe that I used to create my card. I will link all the products at the end of my post. I started with one of the Brutus Monroe precut and folded 6×6 white card bases.  Next I added a layer of Basic Black.  For the main layer I used a piece of preprinted cardstock from the Brutus Monroe Tangled Elements pad.  Next came the fun of coloring with my copics! Here is a picture my girlfriend Heather Collins took of me coloring. I hate getting my picture taken and she got this without me knowing lol.

After I finished coloring all the leaves I wrapped a piece of the white and black grosgrain ribbon around this layer using Brutus Monroe craft glue and then added to my card on top the black layer.  Next I took another piece of the ribbon and made a bow and added to the left side using a glue dot. For the sentiment I cut a small rectangle piece of black cardstock and stamped the sentiment, from the Brutus Monroe set Autumn Thanks, in embossing ink and heat embossed with the Alabaster embossing powder.  To finish I popped the sentiment on the right hand side of the ribbon using dimensionals.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my creation this week.

Until next time

Happy Crafting 🙂

Welcome Baby

Good morning!  Today is half way through my Growing In Unity week. Thank you so much to everyone who has stopped by and commented on my projects! For today I decided to make a card for a friend who will be having her first baby soon.

I started with a Lost Lagoon card base and added a layer of polka dot dsp that I added a piece of yellow ribbon to. Next I took a piece of white cardstock and die cut the the inside mat and sponged with Lost Lagoon ink. I stamped the giraffes on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth cardstock and colored with my copics and then fussy cut and added to the mat layer and used Glossy Accents on all the giraffe spots. While the glossy accents was drying I die cut the outside frame in orange cardstock and adhered to the mat layer using dimensionals. To finish I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock, fussy cut and sponged the edges with Lost Lagoon.

Here is a link to the stamp set Finally Here that I used for my card

SIP Challenge #84 Tic-Tac-Toe

Good morning!  Today I’m sharing my card for our new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper.  This week we have a fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for you. Here is the inspiration

I choose the diagonal row with Die Cut, Circular Element and Sequins.

Here is the card I made

I know Christmas is gone and past but I couldn’t resist coloring up this cutie from The Greeting Farm.

For this card I choose to make a 5×5 card. I started with a Pacific Point card base and then a layer of Real Red.  For the next layer I used a piece of Whisper White and stamped several snowflakes and then distressed with Marina Mist ink.  Next I die cut one of the large circle scallops in Basic Black and looped a piece of Poppy Parade stitched ribbon through two of the scalloped holes and then wrapped around the white and red layers.  For the main piece I die cut a Stitched circle out of Whisper White and stamped the girl, Holiday Anya 2 from The Greeting Farm, and colored her in with Copics. To finish I stamped a couple snowflakes and added some sequins.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Until next time

Stay warm and Happy Stamping 🙂

Special Friends

Good morning! Along with the warmer weather we are having we are getting lots of rain. So what better way to spend a rainy day than playing in my craftroom with new goodies!

I wanted to share my card I made for the design team over at Firefly Crafts.  This month I got to play with a set from Penny Black.  Here is what I created today

I just adore this set Mimi’s Love!!

I started with a SU Lucky Limeade card base and then added a layer of burlap. For the next layer I took a piece of Basic Black and heat embossed the sentiment (from the Mimi’s Love) in white on the upper right and attached this piece to the burlap layer.  Next I created three layers of landscape, using the Poppystamps stitched landscape dies, and inked sponged them with SU Lucky Limeade and Old Olive inks, layered them together and added to the bottom of the black layer cardstock. Now I stamped the Tree Ring (Concord and 9th) onto watercolor paper with StaZon black ink and colored in with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink.  Once that dried I fussy cut it and added it to my card front. For the tree I die cut that using the Cottage Cutz Tall Tree die on white cardstock and colored with copic markers and then assembled the tree and added it on top the tree ring on the left side. Now is when I get to play with Mimi’s Love!! I stamped the scene with the deer using Momento black ink onto X-Press It cardstock and colored with copic markers and then fussy cut the scene and added this piece on top of the tree and tree ring.  For the final touch I stamped several more of the mushrooms from the scene and colored them in and fussy cut and added to my card across the Landscape hills.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my creation.
