Good morning! I wanted to share my card for this weeks card challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper. This week our inspiration for the challenge is Birthdays!
I decided to make a masculine birthday card
I started with a Baked Brown Sugar card base and then a layer of Basic Black. Next I took a piece of watercolor cardstock and stamped the image, Tree Poem by Stampendous, in Stazon black. Next I used a splatter technique to create the background. I learned this from my friend Eva. Here is a link to her video showing how to do this http://youtu.be/fSpxWPik0Rw
To finish my card I stamped the birthday wishes sentiment from the set Build A Birthday on watercolor paper and added some watercolor and then matted on black and popped it on my card and then added 3 of my homemade enamel dots below the sentiment.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. If you feel inspired come play along with us this week!
Until next time
Happy Crafting 🙂

You explained everything except the light brown stripes on the watercolor paper. Beautiful card. Please tell me how you got the stripes.

Thank you! I just took the paint brush and made swiping strokes across it

What size paint brush did you use. I am having trouble doing any kind of watercolor. I bought some new brushes but haven’t used them yet because they have some kind of coating on the ends of the bristles.

Ginger your background is just gorgeous, and I love the neutral tones. A great masculine card.
