Girls Night Out

Good morning! Today starts our new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper.  Who’s ready for a Girls Night Out?? Me me me!!! Well that’s the theme for our challenge this week!

And this is what I created

This card was so much fun to make! I started with a Watermelon Wonder card base and then added two layers of dsp from a MME paper pad. For the main layer I stamped the Unity girl, from the Drink & Cuss set, onto Crafters Companion cardstock and colored her skin and hair in with my copics. Next I stamped the dress parts of her on scraps of the matching dsp and fussy cut them and glued down on the colored image. For the glass I stamped the image, from the same Unity set, on white cardstock and colored in with pink up to the word wine and then applied Glossy Accents over the whole image. After that dried I fussy cut it and added to my card using dimensionals. To finish I added some bling.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Until next time

Good morning! Today I am part of a blog hop for Unity Stamp Co as a Growing In Unity girl. I am the first stop followed by some amazing ladies. Be sure to stop by everyone’s blog and comment on their posts to be eligible to win a prize package from Unity Stamp Co!

Here is the card I created

I started with a SU Wild Wasabi card base and then added a layer of Basic Black. For the main layer I used a piece of watercolor cardstock. I stamped the flower from the Unity set Blow Your Mind using Stazon jet black ink. After that dried I watercolored the flower using Tim Holtz Distress Inks Abandoned Coral, Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade. After that dried I used my clear Wink Of Stella pen and highlighted the center of the flower.  I used Fossilized Amber to create shadows around the flower. Next I used a paint brush and watered down Vintage Photo and flicked the splatters and then using a sponge distressed the edges with Vintage Photo.   I took twine and made the loops and attached at the flower stem base. To finish I stamped the sentiment from the Unity set Poppy Girl on white cardstock and then fussy Cut and distressed the edges in Vintage Photo and added on top the twine using dimensionals.

Love The Simple Things

Good morning! I hope you had a good weekend. A few of my girlfriends and myself went to a stamp show in Westminster MD. I love going to these events and learning about new companies and their products. One of the companies I came across was Technique Junkies and oh my was I so excited!! Their stamps are amazing and priced so well.

We have a new challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper this week.  The inspiration is Watercolor

I was excited to use one of the background stamps I purchased from the Technique Junkies booth at the stamp show! Here is the card I created

I started my card with a Basic Black card base and then added layers of Only Orange and Basic Black. For the main layer I used a piece of Canson Watercolor cardstock and stamped the Technique Junkies Poppies background Stamp in Stazon black ink. I watercolored the whole background using Tim Holtz Scattered Straw and then highlighted the flowers with Ripe Persimmon and Abandoned Coral. After that dried I applied distress Stickles to the flower centers. While that was drying I stamped the sentiment from the Unity set Head Up-Heart Strong on a piece of white cardstock and then backed that on a piece of black cardstock and added to my card using dimensionals.

Needless to say I am now addicted to Technique Junkies stamps!! If you haven’t ever seen them go check it out here http://techniquejunkies.com/

You Got This Girl!

Good morning! I hope you had a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend. Today I wanted to share my card for our new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper.  This week we have a fun color challenge for you to play along with

Don’t you just love the softness of these colors together! Here is the card I created

My card was really simple and quick to make. I tend to hoard all the pretty dsp paper I own and am trying really hard to get better at using it so this was a good opportunity to do so. As I was searching through my paper to find a stack with these colors I came across a MME pad called Handsome Boy. So I began with a Daffodil Delight card base and then added a layer of Grey.  I choose two papers from the MME pad and added them to the card. The top layer had a perfect open spot on the left for me to stamp the Angie Girl from Unity Stamp Co called Nia Girl. After stamping her directly on the card layer I stamped her again on the left over piece of dsp I used on the third layer and then fussy cut her blouse out and glued down to the main stamped image. I repeated this step on the Grey cardstock and fussy cut her pants and added the to main image. Next I colored her hair, skin, flower and jewelry in using my alcohol markers. To finish I stamped the sentiment from the same Unity set to the left of Nia and colored in all the hearts with a red marker. I believe this has really motivated me to create more cards using all this pretty dsp!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Until next time

We’re Back

Good morning! What an amazing thing to experience yesterday with the Eclipse. I hope you were able to see it. In Virginia we had it at 82% but I also watched the total eclipses on tv and was just amazed.

Today I wanted to share my card for our new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper.  This week we have a Back To School theme

Here is the card I created

Awhile back I seen a pencil shaped card on Pinterest so I thought what a perfect card for our theme this week. I started with a kraft card base in the measurements of 3 x 5 1/2.  To create the point of the pencil I marked the center point on the left side and 2 inches down on the top and bottom then trimmed off the pieces to create the point. To create the pencil lead I punched a circle in black cardstock and glued it to the end of the point and then trimmed off the over hanging pieces. To create the eraser I took a piece of white cardstock and sponged with Distress Oxide in Worn Lipstick. For the pencil barrel I used a piece of Summer Sun cardstock.  For the metal rim I used a piece of foil cardstock. Next I took a black chalk tag by American Crafts and heat embossed the sentiment and image using the Unity set We’re Back in white.  I adhered the tag using dimensionals. This was a super quick fun card to make.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Until next time

Your Are Now A Classic

Good morning!  Today I am sharing my card for our new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper.  This week we have a Sketch challenge for you

Here is what I created

I started with a Tempting Turquoise card base and then a layer of Basic Black. For the next layer I used a piece of Whisper white that I stamped with a SU background stamp called Ephimera. For the main layer I stamped the car with the Unity set For The Guys in Stazon black ink and then clear embossed. I distressed the edges and then backed it on another piece of Basic Black and added to my card using dimensionals. To finish I stamped the sentiment, from the Unity set, on white cardstock and then fussy cut and backed it on black cardstock and fussy cut again and added it to the lower right using dimensionals. This was a super quick and fun card to create.

Happy Snail Mail

Good morning! Today is my final day for creating with Unity Stamp Co as a Growing In Unity girl. I have really enjoyed this experience and the interaction with everyone. For my last project I wanted to create a Birthday/Address snail mail book that can be used to keep names, birthdays and addresses for sending out happy mail/birthday cards.

To create the cover and binding for this book I used my Sizzix passport die and lightweight black chipboard. For decorating the front and back covers I used watercolor paper and distress inks to create the backgrounds. After those dried I adhered them to the covers.  Next I stamped the mushroom and Snail image on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth cardstock and colored with my copic markers and then fussy cut and added to the front cover using dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock with versamark and heat embossed in white and added that across the mushroom stem. I used Glossy accents on the colored dots on the mushroom. While that was drying I started on the signatures for the book. Using the passport die I cut 12 signatures in kraft cardstock and distressed all the edges with Vintage Photo Ink. I then attached all the signatures using hemp thread.

For each signature I cut 3 cardstock panels and distressed them with Distress Oxide inks and then sprinkled with water to give the aged/worn look. After they were completely dry I stamped each one with a journaling stamp and then glued down to both insides and the back of each signature.

Next I made tabs using a We R Memory Keepers punch and distressed each to coordinate the signature and stamped the months on each and glued down to the top front page of each one. I stamped the front cover of each signature with a Unity Stamp and sentiment

To finish my book I hung a Tim Holtz swivel clasp on the outside binding  and then attached a postcard and envelope charm from the hanging chain.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Come back tomorrow to find out the 2 winners, selected from everyone who has commented on my blog posts this week from Monday through today, who will be receiving a grab bag from Unity Stamp Co.
I will also be doing a giveaway for this Happy Snail Mail book on my Facebook page this weekend. If your not a member and would like to join here is a link to the group Stampers Swap Shop.
