Special Day

Good morning! I wanted to share with you today the card I created for our new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper.  This week we have a fun Sketch for you

Here is what I created using this Sketch

I started with a Whisper White card base and then added a layer of black that I die cut using Gina Marie’s rectangle dotted stud dies and then a layer of Coastal Cabana recessed in the black layer.  Next I die cut the black circle using the circle dotted stud dies. For the inside of the black circle I die cut a piece of the SU Inside The Lines dsp and colored the flower with the coastal cabana blendabilities and the leaves with copics. I then die cut the bumble bee in black cardstock and popped him on the side of the flower. I then layered this piece on top the black circle and added to my card on the lower left side. Next I stamped the sentiment from SU Dragonfly Dreams above the circle on the coastal cabana layer. To finish I die cut the dragonflies from the coordinating thinlets and used Inka Gold Metallic rubs to color them and then added them above the main image.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Until next time

Would You Be Mine

Good morning! I hope you have had the nice break in the weather that we have. I know it will be be short lived but I am loving it! Today I wanted to share my card for our new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper this week. This challenge is all about Natural Elements and here is the inspiration

The possibilities are endless with this theme. I tossed with the ideas of burlap, wood or a water scene and finally decided with wood. I recently purchased the tree ring stamp from Concord and 9th and wanted to use it for my card. Here is what I created

I started with a Basic Black card base and then added a layer of Whisper White that I splattered with red and brown using Wink of Stella pens. Next I took the tree ring and stamped it with StaZon onto watercolor paper and then colored it using my watercolor brush and Tim Holtz vintage photo ink.  After that dried I fussy cut the image and cut the heart out in the center using a framelit die from Gina Marie designs and then added a piece of red cardstock on the back.  I then die cut a black arrow using my Little B die and cut it in 2 pieces and added it to the tree ring on the edges of the heart center and added this piece to the card. To finish I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin Up set Would You Be Mine in the lower right.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Until next time

Perfect Moment

Good morning! After a much needed break I am back today with some exciting news! I have joined the Design Team over at Firefly Crafts and I’m here today to share my first project.

This is the card I created for my project. I started with an A2 sized card base in SU Old Olive. My next layer is SU Chocolate Chip that I distressed the edges with my scissors.  The next layer is SU Mint Macaroon that I die cut using the Pierced Chain rectangle dies from Gina Marie. After attaching that layer to my card I stamped the feather (Unity Stamp Co) on vellum with StaZon black ink and then embossed with clear EP and then fussy cut and added it on top of the Mint Macaroon layer on the left side. For the main layer I stamped the owls image (Unity Stamp Co) onto Copic X-Press It paper and colored with my copics markers and then die cut it using the Pierced Chain rectangle dies. I added some twine to the left of the image and then attached this layer to my card.  To finish I stamped the sentiment (Unity Stamp Co) onto white cardstock and then layered it onto SU Chocolate Chip and added it to the main layer on the lower right side.

I had so much fun creating this card and I hope you have enjoyed it too!

SIP Challenge #70 Tic-Tac-Toe

Good morning! It is so beautiful today here on the east coast! Can you believe we had temps in the 80’s in October???  Well enough about the weather and on to some crafty business hehe!

We have a new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper. For this challenge it’s a fun Tic-Tac-Toe board to choose from

Here is what I created

I started with a Kiwi Kiss card base and created an easel card. I layered a piece of Pumpkin Pie to the front panel and then using one of the dies from the Leaflets Framelits set I cut out the leaf from that front panel. Next I took a piece of vellum and stamped the leaf image from the set Lighthearted Leaves in Stazon black ink and then colored in with my SU markers.  I then layered the vellum on the inside of the front panel so that the image lined up with the opening.  Nexti took a piece of Whisper White and cut with the leaf die and layered it on top of the vellum piece.  Now back to the card front, I placed a strip of burlap on the left side and then bunched some twine and finished with a corduroy button. To finish I stamped the sentiment in a piece of white and then layered it on top of a piece of Kiwi Kiss and placed on the inside panel which gives the top panel a place to rest on when opened. I added a couple sequins to the sentiment piece. When the card is displayed you can use a battery operated tea light to sit inside which will illuminate through the stamped vellum image.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Until next time

SIP Challenge #64 – Clean & Simple

Good morning! It’s Tuesday and we have a new challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper. This week it’s all about Clean and Simple

These seem to be the hardest cards for me to make. So for this challenge I wanted to use one of my new sets by Stampin Up called Wherever You Go.

I started with a Whisper White card base and then took a another piece of white measuring 3 1/4 X 3 1/4 and using a small piece of adhesive placed it on my card front where I wanted it to be. I then took a couple pieces of washi tape and masked off just the edges of the card front to the left and right of the the center piece so that when I stamped the image it wouldn’t go all the way to the edges. Next I stamped the sun image using YoYo Yellow and then the bridge using Stazon black ink. Now I removed the washi tape and pulled the stamped piece up and added foam tape and placed it back down lining it up with the edges of the bridge on the card front. To finish I stamped the sentiment from the same set.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Until next time

SIP Challenge #63 Wonderful Wings

Good morning! It’s Tuesday and that means we have a new challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper.  Here is the inspiration for this challenge

And here is what I created

I came across a tutorial for making paper toile cards and fell in love with the results of that technique and had to give it a try. Well I have to tell you I am hooked on it!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base and then my next layer is a piece off off white embossed with the SU script folder and then a piece of Tip Top Taupe lace ribbon around the center. Next is a layer of Taken With Teal added with pop dots. Next I took another piece of off white and stamped the En Francais background stamp in crumb cake and then stamped the SU Swallowtail stamp in Taken With  Teal.  Now for the fun part! I stamped the Swallowtail 3 more times on off white cardstock with Taken With Teal ink. I fussy cut the entire first image and lined it up on the original piece and trimmed it to match that image and then layered on top using pop dots. I then took the second image and fussy cut just the inner wings and added that on top using pop dots. And finally I took the third image and fussy cut just the thorax and added it using pop dots. I then added the completed piece to the teal layer. To finish I accented parts of the swallowtail with glossy accents.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you can play along with us for this challenge!

Until next time

Retro Rubber Challenge #46

Good morning! We have a new challenge over at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog and it’s all about critters!! Here is the inspiration for the challenge

Here is what I created

I choose Taken With Teal for my card base and then added layers of white and black. For the main layer I started with a piece of Whisper White and sponged with Taken Teal ink darkest on the outside layer to lighter towards the center. I then stamped all the images and sentiment from the SU set Wetlands that was released in 2013.  To finish I added a piece of ribbon around the left side of the black and main layer.  Super easy card to make!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have time to play along with us for this challenge.

Until next time

Retro Rubber Challenge #45 – Sketch

Good morning! I wanted to share with you my card for our new challenge over at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  We have a great Sketch for our new challenge

Retro Rubber Challenge #45 - Sketch

Here is what I created

Oh Whale

I decided to use a SU set called Oh Whale from 2013. I started with a Buckaroo Blue card base and then added a piece of Whisper White that I sponged the top half with YoYo Yellow (masking off the sun) and bottom half with Buckaroo Blue. I then took a strip of white and stamped the waves and distressed in blue ink then added to the center of the sponged layer. Next I stamped and die cut the whale and tucked him in behind the waves and stamped the hearts in red. To finish I stamped the sentiment on white and using the Word Window punched it out and added to my card using dimensionals.

I had forgotten how fun this set was to play with!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you can play along with us for this challenge.

SIP Challenge #61 Tic-Tac-Toe

Good morning! It’s Tuesday and that means we have a new challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper.  This week we have a Tic-Tac-Toe board for you to choose the items you would like to make a card with.

SIP Chanllenge 61 Tic-Tac-Toe

I choose the middle row and this is what I created

Sugar Hollow Tree

I started with a Pacific Point card base and then a layer of Kraft cardstock that I distressed with Vintage Photo ink.  I used my Gina Marie stitched hill dies and made the 2 layers of hillside. Next I stamped the SU Hardwood stamp in Early Espresso onto Kraft paper and then die cut it using the Heartfelt Creations Sugar Hollow Teee die. I stamped the image from the same set on a piece of Whisper White and colored in with my copics and then die cut using the die and snipped off the trunk and then layered this on top of the hardwood stamped image and added to my card sitting on top of the hills. To finish I stamped the sentiment from the same set with Stazon black ink.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! If you decide to play along with us for this challenge I can’t wait to see which items you choose to create with.

Until next time
