Would You Be Mine

Good morning! I hope you have had the nice break in the weather that we have. I know it will be be short lived but I am loving it! Today I wanted to share my card for our new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper this week. This challenge is all about Natural Elements and here is the inspiration

The possibilities are endless with this theme. I tossed with the ideas of burlap, wood or a water scene and finally decided with wood. I recently purchased the tree ring stamp from Concord and 9th and wanted to use it for my card. Here is what I created

I started with a Basic Black card base and then added a layer of Whisper White that I splattered with red and brown using Wink of Stella pens. Next I took the tree ring and stamped it with StaZon onto watercolor paper and then colored it using my watercolor brush and Tim Holtz vintage photo ink.  After that dried I fussy cut the image and cut the heart out in the center using a framelit die from Gina Marie designs and then added a piece of red cardstock on the back.  I then die cut a black arrow using my Little B die and cut it in 2 pieces and added it to the tree ring on the edges of the heart center and added this piece to the card. To finish I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin Up set Would You Be Mine in the lower right.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Until next time

Love That Face

Good morning! I hope you are warm and comfy on this blistery cold day. The reality of Winter has set in and I am ready for spring.

I wanted to share with you today our new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper.  We have a color challenge for you to play along with and here is the inspiration

For my card I choose to add the color red

I started with a Whisper White card base and added a layer of black. The next layer is a piece of red canvas that I frayed on the edges. Next I took the image from the Unity set Love That Face and stamped her on Whisper White using StaZon black ink and then die cut it with a circle scalloped stitched die from Gina Marie.  I outlined the stitch marks with a red pen and then layered this on top the canvas. I stamped the sentiment from the same Unity set and edged with red ink and added it to my card using dimensionals. To finish I added a few dots of distress Stickles.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Until next time

Quilted Hello

Hello! I am here today to share with you my design team card for Firefly Crafts.  On this cold and rainy day we are having all I wanted to do was crawl back into bed and curl up with my quilt. So I was inspired to use my Gina Marie quilt die for my card.

Here is what I created

How aweosme is that die!! I used SU Whisper White for my card base and then added a layer of SU Cheerful Treat DSP using the solid purple side.  Next I die cut the quilt with a piece of Whisper White and removed all the inside pieces and glued down the outline piece on top of the purple layer. Now I die cut the quilt using a piece of the DSP and used the inside pieces to fill in the outline piece on my card.  This is such a fabulous die to use up all that hoarded DSP ! For the sentiment I die cut the Hello from the SU Hello Thinlets using the same dsp three times and glued them together for added dimension and adhered it to my card. Now I used glossy accents and covered the inside purple pieces and the sentiment. After that dried I added a white flower to the center.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my creation.

If you would like to get this Circle Quilt Die you can find it here at Firefly Crafts

SIP Challenge #80 – Card Makers ChoiceΒ

Good morning! After a much needed break I am happy to be back creating with this amazing team at Stamp Ink Paper. And what a great challenge to come back to. Our new challenge is a Card Makers Choice!

How fun is that to be able to choose whatever your hearts desire is!

Here is what I created

I started my card with a Kraft card base and then added a layer of purple that I distressed on the edges.  For the main layer I took a piece of SU Whisper White and stamped the girl from the Unity set God’s Sight in memento black and colored her in using my Copics.  I then sponged the edges of this with SU Cool Caribbean.  Next I took another piece of Whisper White and cut it to 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 and used the SU tag topper to create the tag.  I then stamped the sentiment from Paper Inspirations using StaZon black ink.  I distressed the edges of the tag in Cool Caribbean as well.  To finish I tied a piece of SU Crumb Cake Tulle in the tag opening and added a flower to it and then added the tag to my card using dimensionals.

Thank you so much for stopping in today. I hope you have been inspired to play along with us this week.

Until next time

SIP Challenge #70 Tic-Tac-Toe

Good morning! It is so beautiful today here on the east coast! Can you believe we had temps in the 80’s in October???  Well enough about the weather and on to some crafty business hehe!

We have a new challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper. For this challenge it’s a fun Tic-Tac-Toe board to choose from

Here is what I created

I started with a Kiwi Kiss card base and created an easel card. I layered a piece of Pumpkin Pie to the front panel and then using one of the dies from the Leaflets Framelits set I cut out the leaf from that front panel. Next I took a piece of vellum and stamped the leaf image from the set Lighthearted Leaves in Stazon black ink and then colored in with my SU markers.  I then layered the vellum on the inside of the front panel so that the image lined up with the opening.  Nexti took a piece of Whisper White and cut with the leaf die and layered it on top of the vellum piece.  Now back to the card front, I placed a strip of burlap on the left side and then bunched some twine and finished with a corduroy button. To finish I stamped the sentiment in a piece of white and then layered it on top of a piece of Kiwi Kiss and placed on the inside panel which gives the top panel a place to rest on when opened. I added a couple sequins to the sentiment piece. When the card is displayed you can use a battery operated tea light to sit inside which will illuminate through the stamped vellum image.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Until next time

SIP Challenge #68 Card Makers Choice

Good morning! We are finally getting some sunshine here in Virginia after a week of steady rain. So I am enjoying the break before we get the storms from the hurricane Matthew.

It’s Tuesday and I wanted to share my card for this weeks challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper.  Our challenge is a Card Makers Choice so the possibilities are endless!

Here is my card

I started with a Tangerine Tango card base. For the main layer I started with a piece of Whisper White, first using a circle die cut to mask off the area for the sun, I sponged the background using my Tim Holtz distress inks. Starting at the top I sponged Squeezed Lemonade and then a layer of Wild Honey and finally the bottom area with Rusty Hinge. When I finished sponging I removed the circle die cut to reveal the moon. For the trees I used a stamp set by Sweet n Sassy called Tender Thoughts. I stamped the trees using Stazon black ink. Now I added this stamped layer to a layer of Whisper White and then those layers to a piece of Kraft cardstock and then added these to the card base. Next I die cut the deer using a die from Gina Marie designs and added it to my card using pop dots. To finish I stamped the sentiment from the Tender Thoughts set on white and punched out with the modern label punch and layered on top of yellow and added with pop dots.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Until next time

Retro Rubber Challenge #48

Good morning! We have a new challenge for you over at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  Here is the inspiration for the challenge

Here is what I created

I used a Manila tag and distressed it with Tim Holtz vintage ink. Next I die cut the trees using the Sizzix thinlets and distressed with SU inks and painted the tree tops with a textured snow paste. I then cut the Stitched hills using the memory box thinlets and distressed then with SU inks as well and painted a snow line at the tops. For the the bottom layer I cut another Stitched hill and stamped the v bug using the Unity stamp set Oh Christmas Joy (released in Oct 2014) with momento black ink.  I colored the image in using my TH distress markers and then sponged the background with SU Soft Sky ink. To finish I dabbed some snow spots to create a falling snow effect.  I added the sentiment from the same set above the trees and then added some SU ribbon.

Thank you so much for stopping today.

Until next time

SIP Challenge #66 – Anything But A Card

Good morning. It’s Tuesday and that means we have a new challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper. This week is Anything But A Card. I love this challenge!

One of my favorite things to make is mini albums so I choose to make a paperbag mini.

The front and back covers are made from chipboard and the inside pages are small crafting paper bags. I bought a loose pack of paper from one of the Facebook groups and it didn’t have the covers so I’m not sure what the name of the Paperline is. I used all kinds of embellishments and twine throughout the album. Here are some pics of the inside pages

If anyone knows the name of this Paperline I would love to know so I can find some more.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my mini album.

Until next time

SIP Challenge #64 – Clean & Simple

Good morning! It’s Tuesday and we have a new challenge for you over at Stamp Ink Paper. This week it’s all about Clean and Simple

These seem to be the hardest cards for me to make. So for this challenge I wanted to use one of my new sets by Stampin Up called Wherever You Go.

I started with a Whisper White card base and then took a another piece of white measuring 3 1/4 X 3 1/4 and using a small piece of adhesive placed it on my card front where I wanted it to be. I then took a couple pieces of washi tape and masked off just the edges of the card front to the left and right of the the center piece so that when I stamped the image it wouldn’t go all the way to the edges. Next I stamped the sun image using YoYo Yellow and then the bridge using Stazon black ink. Now I removed the washi tape and pulled the stamped piece up and added foam tape and placed it back down lining it up with the edges of the bridge on the card front. To finish I stamped the sentiment from the same set.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Until next time
