Happy Snail Mail

Good morning! Today is my final day for creating with Unity Stamp Co as a Growing In Unity girl. I have really enjoyed this experience and the interaction with everyone. For my last project I wanted to create a Birthday/Address snail mail book that can be used to keep names, birthdays and addresses for sending out happy mail/birthday cards.

To create the cover and binding for this book I used my Sizzix passport die and lightweight black chipboard. For decorating the front and back covers I used watercolor paper and distress inks to create the backgrounds. After those dried I adhered them to the covers.  Next I stamped the mushroom and Snail image on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth cardstock and colored with my copic markers and then fussy cut and added to the front cover using dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock with versamark and heat embossed in white and added that across the mushroom stem. I used Glossy accents on the colored dots on the mushroom. While that was drying I started on the signatures for the book. Using the passport die I cut 12 signatures in kraft cardstock and distressed all the edges with Vintage Photo Ink. I then attached all the signatures using hemp thread.

For each signature I cut 3 cardstock panels and distressed them with Distress Oxide inks and then sprinkled with water to give the aged/worn look. After they were completely dry I stamped each one with a journaling stamp and then glued down to both insides and the back of each signature.

Next I made tabs using a We R Memory Keepers punch and distressed each to coordinate the signature and stamped the months on each and glued down to the top front page of each one. I stamped the front cover of each signature with a Unity Stamp and sentiment

To finish my book I hung a Tim Holtz swivel clasp on the outside binding  and then attached a postcard and envelope charm from the hanging chain.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Come back tomorrow to find out the 2 winners, selected from everyone who has commented on my blog posts this week from Monday through today, who will be receiving a grab bag from Unity Stamp Co.
I will also be doing a giveaway for this Happy Snail Mail book on my Facebook page this weekend. If your not a member and would like to join here is a link to the group Stampers Swap Shop.

  31. Wow Ginger, you knocked it out of the park (or crafting studio) once again. This project is totally amazing to say the least!
If you ever feel lead to make me something, I would really love to be surprised with this. You do such amazing work.

Just wondering why you will no longer be creating for Unity stamps.

  35. This is great. It looks like you went with two pages per month, how hard would it be to add more if needed?

    Liked by 1 person

    • Thank you! I used 1 signature per month with 3 pages to write in, both inside pages and the back. With the size of the binding on this one it is completely full. But if you used a bigger binding you could definitely add more
